Maintenance Technician (Full-Time: 30 hrs/wk)

We are looking for an organized, independent maintenance technician person to work full-time (30 hrs per week).  This position is responsible for maintaining Hale Ola Kino’s community and equipment in a safe and efficient manner including adherence to current applicable Federal, State and Local requirements.  To be responsible for preventative maintenance, routine servicing, seasonal repairs and changes, community equipment and basic plumbing repairs.  All job functions are performed with ensuring the well-being, comfort, safety and security of the residents and staff.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school graduate or G.E.D. diploma.
  • Must possess a valid current Hawaii driver’s license and be able to drive to places like Home Depot to get needed parts/supplies.
  • Additional trade or vocational school training is highly desirable. Computer skills necessary.
  • One year plant/residential/apartment maintenance required, or enrollment in a vocational trade school can be substituted for six months of actual on the job.
  • Requires the use of good judgment to follow procedures. Routine duties involve many various procedures.

 

Staff Development Coordinator (Part-Time: 20 hrs/wk)

The Staff Development Coordinator is a licensed nurse who performs an integral role in the nursing department.  Under the leadership of the Director of Nursing, the Staff Development Coordinator will plan and develop educational programs to improve quality of care for the residents at Hale Ola Kino and assist with various departments.  This individual will work closely in a team environment to help coordinate, identify and proactively meet educational needs of employees.  All job functions are performed with customer service and hospitality as the overall goal, to both our residents and co-workers, alike.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • RN/LPN currently licensed in the State of Hawaii.
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in nursing
  • Minimum 2 years clinical experience in caring for older adults in long term care setting
  • Possess ability to organize, plan and supervise the nursing services education department
  • Possess excellent communication, time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to read, write and speak in English, using proper speech and grammar.
  • Ability to demonstrate understanding, patience, tack and courtesy in dealing with residents, family, visitors, and/or co-workers.
  • Must be able to handle multiple tasks and follow instructions carefully.
  • Physical demands require mobility about the unit with direct resident care involving standing, bending, pushing, pulling, stooping, twisting, and reaching.

 

Certified Nurse Aide (Full-Time/Part-Time and On-Call -NIGHT SHIFT)

The Certified Nurse Aide assists the licensed nursing staff by performing routine nursing duties and activities of daily living. All job functions are performed with customer service and hospitality as the overall goal, to both our residents and co-workers, alike.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • CNA registered in the State of Hawaii.
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification.
  • Ability to read, write and speak in English, using proper speech and grammar.
  • Ability to demonstrate understanding, patience, tack and courtesy in dealing with residents, family, visitors, and/or co-workers.
  • Must be able to handle multiple tasks and follow instructions carefully.
  • Physical demands require mobility about the unit with direct resident care involving standing, bending, pushing, pulling, stooping, twisting, and reaching.

 

Registered Nurse (Part-Time/On-Call)

The Registered Nurse is a charge nurse who is responsible for the overall nursing care on his/her shift.  All job functions are performed with customer service and hospitality as the overall goal, to both our residents and co-workers, alike.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • RN currently licensed in the State of Hawaii.
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification.
  • Ability to read, write and speak in English, using proper speech and grammar.
  • Ability to demonstrate understanding, patience, tack and courtesy in dealing with residents, family, visitors, and/or co-workers.
  • Must be able to handle multiple tasks and follow instructions carefully.
  • Physical demands require mobility about the unit with direct resident care involving standing, bending, pushing, pulling, stooping, twisting, and reaching.
Housekeeper (On-Call)

The Housekeeper is responsible for the cleanliness and neatness of the community, including business offices and common areas.  All job functions are performed with customer service and hospitality as the overall goal, to both our residents and co-workers, alike.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Housekeeping experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
  • Ability to understand and follow instructions in English and communicate effectively.
  • Physical demands require moderate to heavy physical effort 80% of the work day with the ability to stop and work from kneeling position, perform repetitive bending, reaching and stretching, and be able to push and/or pull wheeled carts and equipment weighing up to 50lbs.
Licensed Practical Nurse (part-time/on-call)

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is responsible for the accurate and timely administration of medications, treatments, monthly summaries, and documentation, including completing daily skin assessments, while ensuring the highest quality of resident care at all times.  All job functions are performed with customer service and hospitality as the overall goal, to both our residents and co-workers, alike.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • LPN currently licensed in the State of Hawaii.
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification.
  • Ability to read, write and speak in English, using proper speech and grammar.
  • Ability to demonstrate understanding, patience, tack and courtesy in dealing with residents, family, visitors, and/or co-workers.
  • Must be able to handle multiple tasks and follow instructions carefully.
