Human Resources Generalist

As our Human Resources Generalist, you will be responsible for all aspects of the HR and Payroll functions for a small, family like work place. Duties will include recruitment, on-boarding, payroll and benefits, associate relations, performance coaching, progressive discipline, and engagement activities. You will have the full support of both on-site management and the HR team at our management company, Life Care Services.

Far from just a job, this is an opportunity to do great work for seniors while enriching your craft as a Human Resources professional. As a one-person HR department, the successful applicant will:

  • Oversee the recruitment, screening, and on-boarding process including background checks, new file setup, payroll setup, benefits enrollment, and setup into various systems such as time clocks and on-line training.
  • Be self motivated with a good understanding and working knowledge of federal & state employment/labor laws.
  • Processes bi-weekly payroll including staff schedule and timesheet audits and time-off requests in conjunction with department managers.
  • Maintains and monitors employee benefits and leave requests.
  • Working knowledge of TDI, W/C, FMLA
  • Coordinates in-service training.
  • Responds to associate concerns and requests for information.
  • Maintains compliance records (ex: OSHA, I-9, PBJ)
  • Conducts investigations, as-needed.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, or equivalent preferred
  • 2-3 years of hands-on Human Resources Experience
  • A passion for serving seniors in a healthcare setting
  • A passion for serving associates in a Best Places to Work in Honolulu
  • Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including compensation practices, employee relations, performance management and federal and state employment laws.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft products, including Outlook, Word & Excel
  • Knowledge and experience in Oracle HCM Cloud preferred

Registered Nurse (On-Call)

The Registered Nurse is a charge nurse who is responsible for the overall nursing care on his/her shift. They will also be responsible for administering medications to our residents as needed.

Job Type: On-Call

FLSA Status: Non-exempt / Hourly

Qualifications and Skills

  • RN currently licensed in the State of Hawaii
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification
  • Geriatric/rehabilitative experience with a good understanding of restorative nursing.
  • Supervisory experience preferred.
  • Must be proficient with use of computers, to include Microsoft Word/Excel
Certified Nurse Aide (On-Call)

The Certified Nurse Aide assists the licensed nursing staff by performing routine nursing duties and activities of daily living. All job functions are performed with customer service and hospitality as the overall goal, to both our residents and co-workers, alike.

Job Type: On-Call

FLSA Status: Non-exempt / Hourly

Shifts Available:

  • Day / Evening / Night

Minimum Qualifications:

  • CNA currently licensed in the State of Hawaii.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • At least 1 year working experience as a CNA in a long-term care setting, preferred.
General Maintenance (Part-Time, Day-Time)

If you are a self-motivated, independent, hands-on professional who enjoys working with the elderly population, then look no more!!

The General Maintenance is responsible for maintaining Hale Ola Kino’s community and equipment in a safe and efficient manner including adherence to current applicable Federal, State and Local requirements. To be responsible for preventative maintenance, routine servicing, seasonal repairs and changes, community equipment and basic plumbing repairs. All job functions are performed with ensuring the well-being, comfort, safety and security of the residents and staff.

Job Type: Part-time

FLSA Status: Non-exempt / Hourly

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school graduate or G.E.D. diploma.
  • Must possess a valid current Hawaii driver’s license and be able to drive to places like Home Depot to get needed parts/supplies.
  • Additional trade or vocational school training is highly desirable. Minimal computer skills necessary.
  • One year plant/residential/apartment maintenance required, or enrollment in a vocational trade school can be substituted for six months of actual on the job.
  • Requires the use of good judgment to follow procedures. Routine duties involve many various procedures.

Wellness Assistant (On-Call)

The Wellness Assistant is a hands-on position responsible for assisting the Wellness Director in performing various activities with the residents, as well as performing various duties such as computer work, Internet research, etc. All job functions are performed with ensuring the well-being, comfort, safety and security of the residents and staff.

Job Type: On-Call Regular

FLSA Status: Non-exempt / Hourly

Shifts Available:

  • On-Call / Standby

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma and 6 months' of work experience. Additional study and/or experience in geriatric health related subjects recommended. Experience working with physically and cognitively-impaired older adults or background in therapeutic recreational activities are highly desirable.
