Jolene has been serving our Hale Ola Kino kupuna for over 20 years leading with a progressive, resident-centered philosophy. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Food Science and Human Nutrition Management at the University of Hawaii. She also served on the Executive Committee and is a past Board Member of the Hawaii Long Term Care Association, now unified with the Healthcare Association of Hawaii. “Working with a team of highly talented and committed individuals, each of whom share a passion to serving seniors, is my greatest job satisfaction.”

As the director of nurses for Hale Ola Kino, Roselle is responsible for the overall supervision and quality of nursing care. Roselle, who is a registered nurse, received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and has more than 19 years’ experience in geriatric skilled nursing. Roselle said that she loves working with seniors, making a difference in their lives.

Resident Care Manager

Roland has been serving Hawaii’s kupuna for over 17 years, more specifically as our Resident Care Manager. As a registered nurse, Roland assesses incoming residents for their appropriateness medically and clinically for admission to Hale Ola Kino. Roland is one of the first friendly faces that residents and their families see and remains an important resource of them.

Heidi Caldwell
Wellness Director

Heidi Caldwell has been serving the Kupuna of our community as a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist since 2017 in a variety of settings. However she actually got her start here at Hale Ola Kino in the internship program in the summer of 2016 where she learned how to implement the 8 dimensions of wellness into the daily activities for the residents of HOK. The goal is to help rebuild/maintain skills, improve mood, boost quality of life and strengthen social connections. Together with her Therapy Dog in training, "Lokahi", they strive to give your loved ones a reason to get out of bed in the morning!

Gloria Abatayo
Social Services Coordinator

Gloria has been serving Hale Ola Kino’s kupuna for over 5 years; first, as our Medical Records Coordinator and now, our Social Services Coordinator. She uses her past experiences and training to assist our residents with the transition from the hospital or previous living environment to life at Hale Ola Kino. With our “Safe and Sound Program,” Gloria partners with our physicians, therapists, residents, and families to determine appropriateness medically and clinically from moving out from Hale Ola Kino to returning home.

When not at work, Gloria uses her positive attitude and tireless energy to hike, run, exercise and shop.
